It had taken some doing, but Duke had managed to get his hands on some outrageously expensive skincare products to lavish on Lucifer during his "spa" pampering, and he'd done his best to prep both the pillow room and the sauna on board the Rouge to match. He'd picked up some lotus silk pillow cases, and 700 thread count Egyptian cotton sheets for the massage table (so he wouldn't slide off when things got hot and sweaty).

All of it in silver, champagne, white with occasional pops of jewel tones, to match the color scheme of the white caviar pearl infused cremes and lotions.

Duke really hoped Lucifer liked it. He was only just realizing as he looked at it checking for any final touches needed that it might be a little too 'Silver City' for full relaxation.

He decided to go get Octavia and Lucifer before he could go full neurotic on that question.

While he was doing that, Octavia gave the existing bite a little nip. Then left a new one blooming right next to it, before stepping back just enough to give them room to move.

Duke was too in the moment to notice she had fallen out of it, unfortunately, or he would have checked in. Instead, he was sliding to his knees after Lucifer, one hand reaching over to graze her side as he went, both to ground himself and to give the bite he’d given her a quick squeeze before he was committed to all fours.

And then he was. On the ground, at Lucifer’s mercy.

"There we are," Lucifer said, watching him move... appreciatively. "Very pretty."

He glanced up at Octavia's face for a second, because her tone earlier had been... something.

There wasn't much he was allowed to see on her face right now. Octavia was looking down at Duke, her head just barely tilted, her hand just ghosting over the bruise he'd just touched (eliciting the smallest gasp, despite everything else).

"Very."

Duke preened, shaking his hair out of his face. “Thank you. It’s all for you two.”

Lucifer laughed. "We appreciate it," he said, and, after one more cursory glance at Octavia, he sank to his knees beside Duke. He placed a hand on Duke's back, rubbing idly, sliding it over his arse. "And I'm going to get my hands all over it."

Octavia watched. And picked up her abandoned glass of juice from earlier, to finally finish it.

Staying hydrated was important.

“Promises, promises,” Duke said, wiggling his ass. He flicked an eyebrow at Octavia. “Your turn to watch, Tavi?”

Lucifer slid his hand further down, and leaned in to kiss Duke's lower back.

"Well, you're just so pretty together."

That much was definitely true. Just look at her gaze following Lucifer's lean.

Duke shivered, rocking back a little into Lucifer’s grip.

“We’ll have to give you a good one, this time.”

"Suppose we should," Lucifer agreed, grinning.

He followed the arc of Duke's spine with his mouth, pressing himself up against Duke's behind. "Now, I believe I made a few promises to you..."

Octavia...

Went to refill her glass. Make it a proper mimosa, this time.

“You did,” Duke gasped.

But Octavia walking away was hard to miss.

“But — I think, uh.” He shook his head a little. “Think we might be losing our audience a bit.”

Rule number one of Octavia taking a moment was to not call attention to Octavia taking a moment unless it lasted longer than a minute.

Lucifer sighed, and glanced over his shoulder. Sliding back a bit, because the position they were in could very quickly start feeling foolish. "Octavia?"

'Walking away' was a bit too harsh for maybe one and a half steps, even with the turn at the end that left them looking at her back. Octavia wasn't that stupid.

(Not that that seemed to have helped any.)

"Getting a refill," she rasped, raising her glass demonstratively to the side of her where they could see it, half-full with orange juice. "Keep going."

Duke was in a vulnerable position, okay? So when something shook him out of the moment, he was going to check on it.

He was also going to do his best to take her at her word though.

“Cool.” He flicked a grin back at Lucifer. “You heard the lady.”

Lucifer laughed softly. "Going, going," he said, and leaned back over Duke, biting down quite happily on his shoulder.

Octavia was very careful not to let any of her wave of relief show in her posture. At least she'd managed to keep from poisoning this for everyone. For now, at least.

Champagne went into her glass, filling it up the rest of the way.

Another way to do that would be to explain what went off for her so they could readjust. But she’d never been the best at doing that in the moment.

Duke bit back a whine when Lucifer bit down, then gasped.

“Hair,” he said. “Tug the hair.”

The only way she was good at that was if they'd stop the whole affair, have a misunderstanding, then follow up with a long conversation. And-- in his subconscious, Lucifer knew he'd feel terrible about taking her out of the moment if he did.

Which would, in turn, make Duke feel terrible.

So he was choosing not to think about it, for once.

He laughed softly. "Oh, now you're demanding," he teased-- as he wound one hand in Duke's hair and gave it a firm tug.

The misunderstanding part was optional, but yes, see, that was exactly Octavia's logic. The poison, once allowed to spread, would just kill this for everyone. Better to just hoard it to herself.

Two out of three wasn't bad, anyway.

Her glass now full almost to the brim, she turned again, to watch them.
